Why Multichoice DSTV/GoTV Will Shutdown by June 2019? See Reasons

The Federal Government has reminded the cable companies of their license which is expected to expire by the year 2019 hence shutting down the operations of DSTV and GoTV in the country. The management of these cable companies which have gained popularity and a lot of customers in Nigeria were notified.
According to a letter issued on Tuesday by the Nigeria Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC), says the license issued to them in 2014 by NBC will not renew because it was not in line with Digital Switch Over (DSO) White Paper
On the other hand GoTV has been accused of being used as a channel by brother company DSTV to syphon foreign exchange from Nigeria to its company. So, the only option left for Multichoice DSTV/GOTV to ever operate in Nigeria after license expiration is to go to Licensed Signal Distribution Company, that is Pinnacle Communications Ltd or ITS.
